FF Branded is proud to announce that it has completed post-production on our latest branded content film, “Dan.” This is the second project of ours that has gone through the entire post-production process using DaVinci Resolve.
Who is FF Branded?
FF Branded is the sister company to The Film Fund. While The Film Fund helps to draw new people into the film industry by funding projects, FF Branded allows top creators to get to work on branded content films.
All of the content produced by FF Branded is done so under the watchful eye of producer Thomas Verdi. FF Branded’s projects make extensive use of experienced filmmakers from The Film Fund community.
What Is “Dan?”
Dan is our second branded project completed using DaVinci Resolve. Dan is a thriller-comedy produced for our client, Precision Vehicle Solutions. The Film Fund community member and cinematographer, William DeJessa, served as cinematographer on the project, with Thomas Verdi producing and directing.
Dan is a short branded content film that explores the perils of attempting to purchase a vehicle without any guidance. It tells the story of one man becoming completely overwhelmed with the vast number of choices on the market. Luckily for him, he has Precision Vehicle Solutions on his side, and it isn’t long before car consultant, Dan LaGueux, guides him towards choosing the right vehicle.
You can watch “Dan” below.
How FF Branded Used DaVinci Resolve in The Creation Of “Dan”
Dan was the second project that went through post-production using DaVinci Resolve. Our first was “Analog,” produced for Solcosm, and we couldn’t be happier with the results.
What Is DaVinci Resolve?
DaVinci Resolve is post-production software that has been available on the market since 2004. It has been used for the post-production (including audio post-production) on movies and films such as:
- Avatar
- Deadpool 2
- Star Wars: The Last Jedi
- The Walking Dead
- American Horror Story
- James Bond: Spectre
When we had the opportunity to work with DaVinci Resolve, we absolutely jumped at the chance. There is a reason why this software has been used with some of the biggest movies and TV series; it gives fantastic results.
How DaVinci Resolve Was Used By FF Branded
We are sure that you are all aware of the post-production meaning. However, just in case you are not, post-production covers all of the work that is carried out on the movie when the shoot has been completed. This is often the longest and the most complicated part of the process. It includes:
- Editing
- Color grading
- Image editing
- Audio post-production
- Sound design
One of the reasons why DaVinci Resolve is used so heavily in the film industry is because of the fact that you can carry out almost everything related to post-production in the software. For both “Dan” and “Analog,” that is exactly what we did.
Working closely with our award-winning team, FF Branded was able to edit together our branded projects with ease. The tools at our disposal with DaVinci Resolve allowed us to edit together clips seamlessly to create a cohesive story. It is the tools in DaVinci Resolve that allowed us to create the thriller-inspired atmosphere that viewers are able to enjoy in “Dan.”
Our work didn’t stop at the picture editing, though. We were also able to carry out full audio design within the software. As anybody in film production will know, audio post-production is often the most difficult part of the process. If you get it wrong, the entire atmosphere of the movie could be lost.
We were also able to carry out color grading to ensure that the movie met the vision of our creative team.
DaVinci Resolve is likely to be a piece of software that we will be using for our post-production going forward.
